After a bright, sunny day, twenty seven members and friends journeyed to Blaxton for the annual outing, to visit Walkers Nurseries. Everyone was delighted that the weather was fine and warm, remembering the last three annual outings which had been enjoyed despite weather that varied from poor to downright awful.

The nurseries, a family business established many years ago and still family run, is set amongst acres of beautifully designed and well maintained gardens. The old gardens displayed mature trees and shrubs, waterways and ponds with fish and many delightful areas to sit and enjoy them.

The new gardens, well planted and containing a stream and impressive stone work buildings also had its own 'stone henge' and several ponds and wildlife areas.

Inside, an impressive array of plants, shrubs, trees and garden accessories kept everyone busy  and the books, ornaments and seating soon had the till ringing.

The journey to the Green Tree at Hatfield was accomplished in time for everyone to enjoy a welcome drink and a 'sit down' as well as a very reasonably priced meal of their choice.

The events calendar and reminders about Winterton Show and the outing to Skipton constituted the only business.

A successful evening enjoyed by all.
