Minutes for Members Night Thursday 22 July in Winteringham Village Hall at 7.30pm The President, Mrs. Christine Hammond welcomed 29 members and one guest. Business, dealt with as quickly as possible, included arrangements for Winterton Show next year, transport for the visit to Great Limber for History Wardrobe, and arrangements for the Taste and Bake evening in August, Federation events were advertised and comments made about the visit to an alpaca farm.
Mrs Lancaster reported that Gift Aid of £237 had been received and that the current account stood at £3899.24 with £67.04 in cash. The bursary account remains at £149.63. The minutes of the June outing were signed and left out for members to read.
Mrs. Margaret Johnson then welcomed the committee and thanked them for their hard work during the year. She apologised for the lack of a speaker, who had let them down at the last minute. She suggested that the table, laden with many dishes of tempting food, be broached at once and that everyone should enjoy the food and the chance to socialise during the course of the meeting. A quiz, on Films from the Sixties, demonstrated how many of us misspent our youth at the cinema and was completed by most. The second was on Cary Grant and proved more difficult.
The draw for the mystery prizes, which included a box of vegetables grown by Mrs Armstrong, took place.
The President thanked the members on behalf of the committee for the wonderful spread of food which had been much enjoyed and said how much all had enjoyed the evening. A reminder was given about the next meeting on Thursday 19 August when the committee will be the hostesses and provide the mystery parcels.
